Greenhouse gas emissions on the decrease in Quebec
In 2009, Quebec greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions decreased by 2.5% as compared with 1990, according to the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks in its latest inventory of greenhouse gas emissions. * But Quebec still has a long way to go if it is to achieve its goal of a 6% reduction in emissions by 2012 as compared with 1990.

Défi Climat campaign
Défi Climat is Quebec's largest awareness-raising and mobilization campaign in the fight against climate change. Modelled on the United Way thermometer, it invites organizations in the public and private sector to mobilize employees and students to reduce their collective greenhouse gas emissions.
