Équiterre offers you the possibility to obtain the Certificate for Ecosystem-friendly Horticultural Services-a first in Quebec.
This certification addresses professionals in landscape architecture and green space management who want to adopt practices that are respectful of ecosystems.
The objectives of the Certificate for Ecosystem-friendly Horticultural Services :
- Increase the respect of the environment by guaranteeing urban design services approved by an independent certifying agency that is ISO 65 certified;
- Structure the practice by establishing minimum requirements and by providing guidelines;
- Provide a clear definition of products and services used;
To obtain the certificate, interested horticulturists must learn about the standards and good practices in ecosystem-friendly horticulture and pass an exam to demonstrate their knowledge.
An independent certification body will then make an inspection visit, following which the certificate is issued.

The following is the list of businesses whose horticulture services were certified as “ecosystem-friendly” for the year 2007-2008. These businesses have been audited by an independent certification body and are certified with ISO 65 in order to ensure that their clients receive horticultural services that are respectful of ecosystems. As official Horti-Eco* members, they may display the Horti-Eco logo.
- Horti-Eco refers to the association of businesses that respect the certification standards of ecosystem-friendly horticultural services. Only businesses that have met the eligibility criteria and whose certification file was approved by an independent body may display the Horti-Eco logo.
