Glyphosate is the most widely used pesticide in the world. It is found everywhere: in the water, air, soil, rainwater, and even on our plates.

Monsanto manipulated public science to downplay the cancer risk of its pesticide glyphosate. Recent revelations show that research biased by Monsanto was used in Canada’s re-assessment of glyphosate in 2017.

Équiterre has been working for several years to put the health of the Canadian population and Canadian agriculture ahead of industry interests. And what we know today is just the tip of the iceberg.

SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST GLYPHOSATE USE AND SHARE THE INFORMATION

Équiterre is demanding immediate action to:

  1. Cancel the re-registration of glyphosate in Canada, as we can no longer have confidence in the 2017 decision, which was based on industry-biased science;
  2. That the Federal Minister of Health conduct an independent review (as permitted by law) of the glyphosate assessment process in Canada to, among other things, investigate possible interference by Monsanto in the Canadian assessment;
  3. Have glyphosate added to the list of restricted pesticides for agricultural use by Quebec's Minister of Environment;
  4. Have unlimited public access to all the studies, statistics and correspondences about the impacts of pesticides that have been submitted by the pesticide industry and used by regulatory agencies.
