Following Jack Layton's announcement that he is temporarily stepping down as leader of the NDP to focus on treatment for a newly diagnosed form of cancer, Equiterre wishes him a speedy recovery and all of the courage needed to overcome this disease. "Jack Layton is one of the most ardent defenders of environmental issues in Ottawa. He has kept climate change on the agenda," says Steven Guilbeault, deputy executive director of Equiterre. "We wish him a quick return to health and hope to see him when Parliament next resumes."
