Canadians have made clear their desire for change by electing a new federal government, which needs to tackle climate change immediately. Together, we must redouble our efforts to transition towards a future powered by 100% renewable energy, justice and innovation.
There is a growing worldwide consensus that a transition to a 100% clean economy by 2050 is not only necessary—it’s 100% POSSIBLE. This transition would move Canada towards a sound, diversified economy with low-carbon jobs and greater respect for the rights of Native people. It would also stop the development of tar sands and pipeline infrastructure.
So let’s rally in Ottawa on November 29 and call on the new Liberal government for a real economic and energy transition—on the eve of its first United Nation Climate Conference, which starts in Paris the next day.
It’s time for Canada to be guided by science, to look at potential solutions and seize the opportunities offered by the green economy.
March with us for climate solutions and justice in Ottawa on November 29! Let’s remind the government that there are solutions to climate change and that the transition to a clean economy is 100% possible!
