With the Holiday Season approaching, we're looking forward to getting together with colleagues, family and friends. But sometimes, when we start talking about environmental issues, things can get complicated…
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you wanted to answer questions or rectify information about environmental issues, or to defend your environmental actions, only to find yourself in heated conversations that can sometimes become uncomfortable, or even polarizing? We have!
For the occasion, two guest experts from the UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Extremism will share their knowledge and techniques to help us foster healthy, empathetic conversations, and avoid the risks of polarization.
We'll also share some tips on how to counter often-heard arguments such as:
It's too late to do something about climate change;
A 1.5 degree Celsius increase is not a big deal;
Climate change doesn't exist or China is to blame;
Small gestures are useless;
The COP is useless, etc.
PS: Do you have any potentially polarizing questions or topics to suggest for this event? Please send them to us through this form.
