Sérgio Torres Buarque
Technical and Administrative Support Officer
Sérgio began his career in the Brazilian Armed Forces (Navy) in IT support, then worked in law firms. He returned to school to obtain a Bachelor of Law and worked as a lawyer specializing in digital law and tax law, before obtaining a Master of Business Administration. Throughout his professional career, he has worked in IT technical support, systems administration and cybersecurity.
Sérgio was already involved with NPOs, having worked in particular in the Lixo Zero (Zero Waste) campaign team in 2018 in the city of Olinda (Brazil). Shortly after arriving in Canada, he naturally joined the Équiterre team in January 2022. Since then, he has been in charge of technology and technical support for the entire organization.
