In collaboration with Équiterre and the Farm to Cafeteria Canada network, the Collectif de la table des écoliers and Breakfast Club of Canada are creating the first map of school food initiatives on the Island of Montreal.
The goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of activities that provide food to students and educate them about the benefits of healthy food (e.g., culinary workshops, teaching gardens, etc.) and of the organizations involved. The map will identify the programs and the schools running them.
If your daycare or school runs these kinds of activities, or if you are an organization that carries out food projects in daycares or schools, please tell us about them by completing the online questionnaire by September 10, 2016.
The objectives of the initiative, which is supported by Québec en Forme, are to:
• identify priority needs and convergences
• create synergies and facilitate collaboration
• create a platform for sharing information and follow-ups (form to be determined: blog, newsletter, meetings, committees, etc.).
Once the data received has been compiled, a networking event will be held at the Centre for Sustainable Development in autumn 2016 to present the main results.
Thank you for helping us put healthy sustainable food initiatives in Montreal on a map!
