When Equiterre outgrew its offices, we realized that we had an opportunity to promote an underdeveloped sector in Quebec. We would solve our housing woes and set an example for green building in the province.
And so began the Centre for Sustainable Development, a nonprofit organization whose mission was to build and operate a demonstration certified LEED Platinum green building. The project is now completed, thanks to the hard work and determination of the partners who shared our vision to:
- share space and resources for leading social and environmental organizations
- become an idea launch pad for sustainable development
- provide citizens, businesses and governments with new information on sustainable development
- lead by example for green building in Canada
Climate crisis, energy crisis, economic crisis, the Centre for Sustainable Development is a community response to this triple crunch. We hope you'll drop by!
