Time is running out. We have to act. This year, Earth Day will become Earth Week, with celebrations continuing for a whole week.
Up for supporting young people taking action on Monday, April 22?
Following the big rally on March 15, this will be another event with committed young Quebecers, who will be joined by citizens, parents, environmental organizations, unions, ecologists, teachers and farmers.
The kick-off will be in Quebec City April 22, Easter Monday and Earth Day, with a huge rally to form a human chain around the National Assembly. At least 1,000 people will be needed to completely surround the building. We must send a clear message to the Government of Quebec: We need to act now on climate change!
To get there, you can use the shuttle service organized for the event. Buses will be leaving from Rimouski, Saguenay, Montreal, Sherbrooke, Rivière-du-Loup, Trois-Rivières and Gatineau. Another option is to join the online carpooling group. You can find out more about the April 22 rally here.
Can’t make it on Monday, April 22? There’s always April 27!
Earth Week will conclude on Saturday, April 27, with a big march in Montreal and Rouyn-Noranda organized by the Planet Goes to Parliament. This will be another step toward the global strike for the planet, which will take place on September 27 (#EarthStrike).
The climate movement continues to grow, with people across the planet rallying for change. Let’s come out in force and show our support!
Other ways to get involved in Earth Week
Check out the whole Earth Week schedule on Facebook.
On Friday, April 26, still in Quebec City, a mobilization is being organized as part of the consultation of senators for the adoption of Bill C-69 (join the event La planète s'invite au Sénat and the open letter entitled "La protection de l'environnement tenue en otage par le Sénat").
Join the largest environmental movement in Quebec and encourage friends and family to join, too. This will help expand the movement and strengthen our voice! You can participate in Équiterre's annual members' meeting on Tuesday April 23 in Quebec city and Thursday April 26 in Montreal (*you can become a member on the spot at the event. It's a great opportunity to meet all the Equiterre employees and Directors!
Get informed, share posts, sign up for an organic basket with an Équiterre family farmer and take action for the planet! Have a great Earth Week!
